Mangal Industries selects Sinoma to build 3Mta cement plant

An indigenous Nigerian firm, Mangal Industries had signed a US$600m deal agreement with Sinoma International Engneeering of China for the construction of a 3Mta cement plant and 50MW captive power plant in Mopa, Kogi State, Nigeria . The factory will rely on the best available technology for cement production and in line with the highest environmental standards and scheduled to be completed in early 2024.

Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has announced a 34.2 per cent YoY increase in group revenue to NGN1022bn (US$2.49bn) for the first nine months of the year, compared with NGN761.4bn in the year-ago period. BUA Cement records 23% increase in profit

Nigeria’s BUA Cement has reported a 23.2 per cent increase in profit after tax to NGN65.91bn (US$160.54m) in the first nine months of the year, compared with NGN53.5bn seen in the 9M20. Revenue for the period also increased 19.4 per cent YoY to NGN186.9bn from NGN156.5bn. EBITDA advanced 14.8 per cent YoY in the third quarter of 2021, as the revenue increase accounted for a rise in the cost of sales.

Wartsila extends O&M agreement with Lafarge Africa

Wärtsilä has signed a five-year Operation & Maintenance (O&M) agreement with Nigeria's Lafarge Africa Plc. Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has appointed Philip Mathew as its new deputy group managing director and CEO, with effect from 15 September 2021. BUA Cement signs 70MW Wärtsilä power plant agreement

BUA has signed an agreement with Wärtsilä OY of Finland for the construction of a 70MW dual-fuel power plant for the BUA Cement Sokoto Line 4 in Sokoto state, northwest Nigeria.
