Pakistan's Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) has released cement export data for the 12 months of July-June (2019-20). During this period, the quantity of cement exports increased but the dollar value fell, reflecting a weaker global market for cement and clinker in the aftermath of COVID-19. Pakistan’s cement industry during the FY19-20 (July 2019-June 2020) recorded a rise of two per cent to 47.81Mt in total cement dispatches from 46.88Mt in FY18-19. Pakistan’s Power Cement Ltd has announced that its 7700tpd clinker production plant has reached its rated capacity and will therefore begin commercial production from 1 July 2020.   The company noted production levels of 450,096t and 502,541t of cement and clinker, respectively, during the 9MFY19-20. All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) released local/overseas dispatches data for May and the 11MFY19-20. Flying Cement reports 96% fall in sales

Pakistan’s Flying Cement Co saw a 95.9 per cent fall in sales to PKR35.62m (US$217,705) in the January-March period of 2020, compared to PKR858.47m in the year-ago period. The company also reported a net loss of PKR110.7m against a net profit of PKR64m in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. In the first nine months of FY19-20, sales declined 63.6 per cent YoY to PKR964.6m from PKR2.65bn. The company’s net loss also widened to PKR14.87m from PKR48.68m in the FY18-19.
