ACC reports full-year loss, Saudi Arabia

Saudi producer Arabian Cement Company (ACC) reported SAR190m (US$50.7m) in net earnings in FY13, a 50.96 per cent decline compared with SAR387.4 min FY12. In the fourth quarter of 2013, ACC reported a loss of SAR108.7m against a loss of SAR82.3m in the corresponding period of the previous year. Tabuk full-year net earnings decline, Saudi Arabia

Tabuk Cement' FY13 net earnings decreased 5.86 per cent in 2013 to SAR173.4m (US$46m) from SAR184.2m the year before. The Saudi-based producer said net earnings in the fourth quarter of 2013 also fell by 16.26 per cent YoY to SAR38.1m (US$10.2m) compared to SAR45.5m in the comparative period of 2012.  

PT Holcim Indonesia 2013 sales dip

PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk reported lower sales volume in 2013, down two per cent to 8.43Mt compared to the 8.58Mt of cement sold in 2012. The company represented 14.5 per cent of the domestic market share, according to the Indonesia Cement Association (ASI) as reported by Kontan. Jidong sees strong rise in 2013 net profit

Tangshan Jidong Cement Co Ltd expects net profit to be between CNY306m and CNY360m (US$50.6m-59.48m) in 2013, a YoY increase of 70 per cent to 100 per cent, the company said. The Hebei Province-based cement manufacturer attributes the profit growth to an improved reduction in production costs and increasing sales volume.

Southern Province posts flat full-year profit

Southern Province Cement posted a SAR1.006bn (US$268m) net profit in 2013, almost flat from SAR1bn the year before. Earnings per share stood at SAR1.013. Operating profit for the Kingdom’s largest cement firm by market value, fell from SAR1.008bn in 2012 to SAR973m last year.

Steppe Cement revenue rises as Kazakh demand rises 13%

Kazakhstan producer Steppe Cement said its 2013 revenue was 8.7 per cent higher YoY, as demand in the central Asian country increased by an estimated 13 per cent to 8.1Mt during 2013. The company generated revenues of KZT19.47bn during the year, up from KTZ17.91bn in 2012. Cement sales reached 1.37Mt, up from 1.35Mt in 2012m an increase of 1.3 per cent. Yamama Cement net profit rises 6.4% YoY

Yamama Cement Co of Saudi Arabia said yesterday its net profit for 2013 rose by 6.4 per cent to SAR870m (US$232m), up from SAR818m a year ago. The increase was attributed to a rise in extraordinary gains from the sale of stakes in affiliate companies, Yamama Cement said without giving exact figures. The operating profit declined to SAR829m from SAR863m.

Conch expects strong rise in 2013 profit

Anhui Conch, the leading cement producer in China by market value, said it expects a 50 per cent rise in net profit attributable to shareholders for 2013. Saudi Cement 4Q13 profit down 8% YoY

Saudi Cement reported an eight per cent fall in fourth-quarter profit on Tuesday, attributed to lower sales and rising raw material costs. In the three months to the end of December the company posted a net profit of SAR256m (US$68.3m), down from the SAR278m in the same period of the year before, according to a statement to Saudi Arabia’s bourse. Saudi Cement attributed the profit drop to a decrease in sales during the quarter and the high cost of imported clinker.

CRC profit alert, China

China Resources Cement said the group's profit attributable to the owners of the company for the year ended 31 December 2013 is expected to be substantially higher compared with last year. The company attributed the performance to the higher sales volume of cement and clinker, and improved gross margin.
