Saint-Gobain has signed a five-year renewable electricity supply agreement (power purchase agreement or PPA) in Romania with energy supplier OMV PETROM SA. Saint-Gobain has reported total group sales of EUR11,356m in the first quarter of 2024, down 5.8 per cent from EUR12,406m in the same period a year earlier. According to the company, the decline was due to a contraction in new construction in Europe, but supported by growth in the Americas and Asia-Pacific. Saint-Gobain has successfully priced its first double green bond, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable construction. This follows a Sustainability Linked Bond in August 2022 and renewal in December 2023 of its backup revolving credit facility as a Sustainability Linked Loan. Saint-Gobain has reported sales of EUR47,944m in 2023, down 6.4 per cent from EUR51,197m in the previous year. EBITDA over the same period declined 1.7 per cent from EUR7123m to EUR7001m, while consolidated net debt fell 10.2 per cent from EUR8232m to EUR7393m.
