India’s Sanghi Industries Ltd has announced plans to expand its existing cement plant in Sanghipuram, Kutch, to 8.6Mta from 4Mta. The project is expected to be completed at an investment of INR15bn (US$214.78m) and generate employment for around 350 people. India's Sanghi Industries announced it had exited from the corporate debt restructuring (CDR) mechanism and repaid its INR2.56bn debt as well as raised funding via non-convertible debentures of INR2.56bn as additional capex. Sanghi Industries to inaugurate new mill, India

Sanghi Industries has installed a new 1.2Mta grinding mill at its plant located in Sanghipuram, Kutch district, taking total capacity to 4.1Mta. The company now proposes to commence work on a 15MW Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system at the main part of the plant. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, will inaugurate the grinding facility and lay the foundation stone for the WHR plant at a ceremony on 10 July 2015.

Pokot Cement plans to construct a power plant to supply its upcoming cement works in Kenya as well as the national grid.
