Shiva Cement to set up new 4000tpd unit

India’s Shiva Cement has announced plans to set up a new 4000tpd clinker unit and 1Mta grinding plant. The total cost of the project is expected to reach INR15.3bn (US$208.02m), with the ground-breaking ceremony expected to take place on 22 October 2020. The company also reported a net loss of INR62.6m in the quarter ending September 2020, compared with a net loss of INR62.3m in the year-ago period. Net sales declined 6.5 per cent YoY to INR52.3m, according to the Business Standard.

Shiva reports 2Q loss at INR62.2m

India-based Shiva Cement Ltd has reported net sales of INR57.2m (US$806,037) in the 2QFY19-20 as compared to INR106.8m in the 1QFY19-20. When compared with the 2QFY18-19, sales increased 28 per cent from INR44.7m. In addition, the company posted a net loss of INR62.2m in the second quarter, when compared with INR41.3m in the first quarter of this financial year. However, net loss was up 5.3 per cent when compared with INR5.91m in the 2QFY19-20.

Shiva Cement announces net loss in the 4QFY18-19

India’s Shiva Cement has reported a net loss of INR51.2m (US$732,110) for the quarter ended March 2019, against a net profit of INR24.1m during the year-ago period. Sales declined 5.6 per cent YoY to INR84.2m from INR89.2m. For FY18-19, the company’s net loss narrowed to INR212.6m from INR310.9m. Meanwhile, sales increased 16.3 per cent to INR293.8m in the full-year period, compared with INR252.6m of the previous financial year.

Shiva quarterly net loss deepens

India’s Shiva Cement has reported a deepening net loss of INR86m (US$1.33m) in the July-September 2017 quarter when compared with a net loss of INR26.3m in the year-ago quarter. Sales fell 41.8 per cent to INR36.6m in the quarter ended September 2017 when compared with INR62.9m in the July-September 2016 quarter.

JSW Cement has bought out the promoters of Odisha-based Shiva Cement, acquiring 37.15 per cent of the latter’s equity, the Economic Times reports. Shiva Cement's dispatches of cement and clinker from April-November 2014 were up by 31 per cent compared to the comparative period of the year before.
