Turkish cement prices rise 56% in July

Cement prices in Turkey have officially risen by around 56 per cent YoY in July, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute's (TUIK) domestic price index. Elsewhere, Tahir Tellioglu, head of the Turkish Contractors' Federation (IMKON), has reported that cement prices surged to TRY450/t (US$53/t) from TRY160 a year ago. Titan Cement reported that in the USA the positive momentum in US fundamentals continued in the first half of the year. Revenue in the USA recorded a 10.2 per cent increase in US dollar terms in the 1H21 but was almost flat in euro terms (+0.8 per cent) at EUR479.3m.   US EBITDA reached EUR81.2m, up by 1.9 per cent in US dollar terms but down 6.8 per cent in euro terms when compared with the 1H20. Turkey sees 24% in exports in 4M21

Turkey’s cement export values increased by 23.5 per cent to US$1.41bn in the January-April 2021 period when compared to the equivalent period in 2020, according to the Turkish Ministry of Trade. Exports to Georgia were up 2.3 per cent to US$13.1m in the four-month period. In April 2021 Turkey exported cement with a value over US$402.5m to global markets, representing an advance of 74 per cent YoY.

Dal Machinery & Design ( Dal Engineering group) was awarded a project for the manufacturing and installation of a kiln shell for VICAT Group's Konya Cement plant, Turkey. The kiln shell was manufactured with a diameter of 4.136mm. Delivery and installation works were made during the month of April of 2021.

Taiwan's cement sector saw tremendous growth in 2020, after the country acted rapidly and very successfully to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
