There has been little change from 2021 when EU27 imports of cement and clinker totalled around 9.5Mt, but in 2022 imports rose above 10Mt for the first time. UK government funds CCS trial at Breedon Cement

The UK government is handing Breedon Cement GBP230,000 (US$290,338/EUR264,453) to investigate the use of carbon capture and storage facilities (CCS) in its cement production. Trials on graphene-enhanced green cement are due to begin in June this year, lead by a consortium including First Graphene Ltd, Breedon Cement Ltd , Morgan Sindall Construction and The University of Manchester.
