The Portland Cement Association (PCA) has lowered its annual growth estimate for 2016 cement consumption from four per cent to 2.7 per cent. Preliminary data published by the US Geological Survey (USGS) concerning US shipments of cement in September 2016 estimates that Portland and blended cement consumption fell to 8.78Mt for the month, down from the month prior when total shipments reached 9.4Mt.
