UK secondary fuels market to stabilise in 2022

Exports of secondary fuels, such as refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and solid recovered fuel (SRF), from England fell by 40,055t in March this year, compared to the same period a year earlier. March 2022 saw exports of 135,506t, versus 175,561t in March 2021, according to data from Footprint Services. Portugal-based cement producer Secil has undergone a rebranding exercise to demonstrate how its four business areas complement each other in terms of flexibility and knowledge. The UNIBETÃO concrete brand will become known as Secil Concrete, while the aggregates brand Secil Britas will now be known as Secil Aggredos. The cement business will be renamed Secil Cimento. Seciltek, the group’s range of construction solutions and materials, will remain the same.

An IKN Pendulum Cooler ® successfully started operation early this year at Martres-Tolosane cement plant in France.   IKN commissioned a 2500tpd cooler for a new production line at the Lafarge France ( Holcim group ) plant. Spanish cement consumption grew by 8.8 per cent in April to 1,346,704t, according Oficemen (Spanish Cement Association). This figure represents the recovery of 108,632t compared to the same month last year.
