Crown Cement appoints new CEO

Crown Cement Group of Bangladesh has appointed Mukter Hossain Talukder as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Mr Talukder was previously the group's chief operating officer. Talukder also served Aman Group, Rangs Group and Social Marketing Company in key positions. He obtained a master's degree on accounting and information science from the University of Dhaka. He is also a fellow chartered accountant of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh.

CRH appoints chairman designate and a non-executive director

CRH plc has appointed Richard Boucher as  chairman designate on 25 September 2019. The Board has also appointed Johan Karlström as a non-executive director, with effect from 25 September 2019. Mr Boucher will succeed the present chairman,  Nicky Hartery, on 1 January 2020. WCA appoints two joint chairmen

The World Cement Association (WCA) has appointed two new Joint Chairmen, Cui Xingtai of China United Cement Co (CUCC) and Vincent Lefebvre of Cem'In'EU. Mr Cui has been Chairmen of CUCC since 2005 and Vice President of CNBM since 2009. Mr Lefebvre has dual experience as an international group executive with Holcim and start-up founder of Cem'In'EU.

Oficemen names Víctor García Brosa as new president

Spain’s cement association, Oficemen, has appointed Víctor García Brosa as its new president. Mr García Brosa is currently deputy general director of Cementos Portland’s managing board. A chemical engineer by training, he entered the cement industry in 2005, when he took up a post in Portland Valderrivas’ strategic planning unit. Saudi Arabia's Najran Cement Co has reappointed Mohammed bin Manaa Aballala (non-executive member) as its chairman. Salah bin Yassin Allaf (independent member) was named as deputy chairman, while Abdulsalam Abdullah Aldriabi was reappointed as CEO.

WCA appoints vice president

The World Cement Association (WCA) has appointed Mohammed A Al-Garni as its vice president. Mr Al-Garni is the CEO of Saudi Cement Co and board member of WCA. "It is a great honour to be chosen as the new Vice President of the World Cement Association and I am really excited to participate in helping it grow further, supporting the association in its role as the voice of the cement industry globally," said Mr Al-Garni. Mr Al Garni has 35 years of experience in the cement industry.

Kohat Cement makes top changes

Kohat Cement Company Ltd (KCCL) has informed Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that the Board of Directors have appointed Aizaz Mansoor Sheikh as Chairman and Nadeem Atta Sheikh as CEO for a term of three years commencing from 8 July 2019. Kohat Cement has a capacity of 2.677Mta at its Kohat plant in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.
