UltraTech commissions Tadipatri production line

UltraTech is commissioning an additional 3.35Mta clinker along with 1.8Mta grinding capacity at its existing unit situated at Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh, India. The capacity addition forms part of the 22.6Mta capacity expansion announced in June 2022. Furthermore, with debottlenecking, the company has increased the capacity of its grinding unit at Jharsuguda , Odisha, by 0.4Mta taking it to 4.5Mta. As a result, UltraTech’s total cement capacity has reached 154.86Mta.

Udaipur Cement Works Ltd (UCWL) , part of JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd , has inaugurated cement mill IV at its Dabok plant in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. JK Lakshmi Cement to invest INR2.25bn in Surat expansion

JK Lakshmi Cement announced it will be spending INR2.25bn (US$27m) to expand its Surat plant in Gujarat, India. Cement capacity at the plant will be increased by 1.35Mta by setting up an additional grinding unit, the company said. The project is expected to be completed within two years and will see the doubling of existing capacity. It will be financed through a mix of term loans and internal accruals.

Siam City Cement posts 1Q23 revenue of THB1188m in Vietnam

Thailand-based Siam City Cement Co (SCCC) has posted a revenue of THB1188m (US$34.5m) from its Siam City Cement Vietnam business in Vietnam in the first quarter of 2023. This represents a 33.6 per cent YoY drop. EBITDA of the Vietnamese operations was -THB52m in the 1Q23, compared with THB371m in the 1Q22. Shree Cement announced the completion of its INR5.5bn greenfield cement plant in Purulia, Bengal, India. The 3Mta cement plant is its first production facility in Bengal and has started trial production on 30 June 2023.
