July deliveries drop 30% in Morocco

Cement deliveries by members of Morocco’s cement association, AFCP, declined by 29.8 per cent in July 2022 to 630,479t from 898,429t in July 2021, according to Ipsos. The data is the aggregate delivery volume of Asment Temera, Cements de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc. In the first seven months of 2022, cement deliveries by APC members fell 7.4 per cent YoY to 7.137Mt from 7.708Mt in the 7M21.

Colombia’s cement demand advanced 4.2 per cent in June 2022 to 1.117Mt from 1.072Mt in June 2021, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. June sales in Chile down 16%

Chile’s cement market contracted 16.4 per cent YoY as cement producers dispatched 297,514t of product in June 2022, according to the Chilean construction chamber, CChC. In June 2021 cement dispatches reached 355,851t. In the first six months of 2022 domestic cement dispatches declined 8.1 per cent YoY to 1,972,730t. In the 6M21 dispatches stood at 2,145,846t.

Iranian cement demand reached 5.36Mt in July 2022, according to the Iranian Cement Association. This represents a YoY increase of 34 per cent when compared with July 2022, when domestic dispatches were 4Mt. Cement demand in Argentina increased by 9.9 per cent in July 2022, according to the AFCP, the country cement association. Dispatches were up 3.9 per cent MoM to 1,146,900t. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the USA and Puerto Rico increased six per cent YoY to 9.7Mt in May 2022, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
