Prism Cement posts increase in net profits

Prism Cement has posted its results for the quarter ended 31 December 2017. The company reached a net profit of INR148.5m (US$2.31m), compared to a loss of INR470m in the year-ago period. The total net sales of the company advanced to INR12.96bn from INR12.34bn, according to Reuters.

Martin Marietta Materials saw turnover advance by 3.8 per cent in 2017 to US$3965.6m and EBITDA was 3.4 per cent ahead at US$1004.4m, with the final quarter showing a 14.2 per cent advance. Siam Cement has released its financial results for the full-year period ended 31 December 2017. Revenue reached THB450.9bn (US$14.34bn), an YoY increase of six per cent from THB423.4bn. Cementos Chihuahua increased its EBITDA by 58.4 per cent YoY in the 4Q17 due to higher cement and concrete sales in Mexico and the USA as well as a 6.2 per cent cement price increase, according to a company statement to the Mexican Stock Exchange. INC sales surpass 1m bags in January

Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) sold 1,003,000 bags of cement in January, of which 87 per cent was sold from its Villeta plant, according to Derlys Ortiz, the company’s commercial manager. Ras Al-Khaimah Cement has recorded a substantial increase in net profit for the full-year period of 2017, reaching AED21.3m (US$5.79m) from AED5.8m a year ago. However, the company also announced a fall in revenue to AED199.2m from AED229.5m of 2016, reports Reuters.

India-based Mangalam Cement has submitted its results for the quarter ending December 2017, which feature a 46 per cent YoY decrease in net profit to INR27m (US$420,126) from INR58.5m.
