Cement demand in Argentina fell 32.8 per cent YoY and seven per cent MoM to 725,661t in June 2024, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. This includes 81t of imports. Between 2019 and 2022, the average export value of cement and clinker ranged from US$1bn to US$1.3bn annually. However, in 2023, export earnings sharply declined due to falling prices. Power Cement Ltd held its analyst briefing on 26 June, during which management reviewed past performance and looked ahead. The company posted a loss of PKR1.2bn (US$4.32m) in 9MFY23-24 compared to a profit of PKR0.6bn in the previous period. Domestic cement dispatches in Peru slipped two per cent YoY in May 2024 to 0.958Mt from 0.977Mt in May 2023, according to the country's cement association, ASOCEM. Total Vietnam cement sales, including domestic and export, for April amounted to 8.541Mt, a 7.7 per cent MoM and 4.6 per cent YoY increase, up from 7.931Mt in March and 8.164Mt in April 2023.  Domestic sales in Vietnam rose 11.5 per cent MoM and 1.4 per cent YoY to 5.699Mt in April 2024. Pakistan's cement and clinker exports increased by 40.5 per cent in the 11MFY23-24 (July 2023-May 2024) to US$236.79m, from US$168.58m in the 11MFY22-23, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data said.
