Holcim announced net sales amounted to CHF6440m (US$6.72bn) in the 1Q22, up 20.1 per cent from CHF5362m recorded in the 1Q21. The company achieved double-digit net sales growth in Solutions  & Products, driven by its roofing business sales, to achieve net sales of CHF5bn. CRH has reported 1Q22 revenues establishing a growth 15 per cent, up 13 per cent LfL. The Europe Materials division grew at 18 per cent in organic terms while the Americas Materials division recorded nine per cent organic sales growth. Northern Region Cement Co has achieved net profits after zakat (charitable donations) and tax worth SAR106.67m (US$28.4m) in 2021, a decline of 1.4 per cent from SAR108.22m in 2020. Revenues fell by 13.7 per cent to SAR561.91m last year from SAR651.48m in 2020. PPC Zimbabwe has projected a 25 per cent increase in cement demand in the local market spurred by government funded projects and rising retail demand.
