Saint-Gobain has signed a five-year renewable electricity supply agreement (power purchase agreement or PPA) in Romania with energy supplier OMV PETROM SA. Vicat reported a 1.2 per cent YoY (+7.9 per cent like for like (lfl)) uptick in consolidated sales to EUR911m in the first quarter of 2024 from EUR899m in the 1Q23. Saint-Gobain has reported total group sales of EUR11,356m in the first quarter of 2024, down 5.8 per cent from EUR12,406m in the same period a year earlier. According to the company, the decline was due to a contraction in new construction in Europe, but supported by growth in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
