Three contenders have submitted binding bids to acquire LafargeHolcim's (LH) Indian cement assets in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, according to local press reports. India-based Shiva Cement's dispatches of cement and clinker during the first quarter of FY15-16 rose by 16 per cent YoY, the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Burnpur Cement inaugurates Jharkhand plant, India

Burnpur Cement's 800tpd cement plant in Patratu was yesterday inaugurated by Raghubar Das, chief minister of Jharkhand state, India. Addressing the gathering Burnpur Cement director, Ashok Gutgutwa, said the plant is based on dry-process technology. It is situated close to Patratu Thermal Power Station and within 10-15km of limestone deposits. It will produce OPC, PPC and Portland Slag Cement (PSC).

KHD wins orders from JSW Cement, India

Humboldt Wedag India Private Ltd (India) and Humboldt Wedag GmbH (Germany), two subsidiaries of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG, have signed contracts to supply equipment and services for eight slag grinding units in India. A significant component of each slag grinding unit includes two KHD roller presses with a total capacity of 180tph. The customer, JSW Cement Ltd, is part of the same group as the Indian steel producer JSW Steel Ltd.

Sanghi Industries has installed a new 1.2Mta grinding mill at its plant located in Sanghipuram, Kutch district, taking total capacity to 4.1Mta. The company now proposes to commence work on a 15MW Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system at the main part of the plant. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, will inaugurate the grinding facility and lay the foundation stone for the WHR plant at a ceremony on 10 July 2015.
