JSW Cement signs waste deal with Punjab Renewable Energy Systems

JSW Cement has signed an agreement with Punjab Renewable Energy Systems (PRESPL) to use agricultural waste as a source of biomass energy in its cement manufacturing units.   JSW Cement will lessen its reliance on fossil fuels by using agri-waste as a fuel. This sustainable fuel approach improves local air quality while simultaneously providing farmers with additional income.

Birla Corp ’s newest cement plant, Reliance Cement Co ’s Mukutban integrated plant, has started dispatching clinker. The clinker is being delivered to the company’s nearest grinding unit at Butibori, Maharashtra. Shree Cement has started commercial production at company's Kiln No 3 clinkerisation unit at Baloda Bazar , near Raipur in Chhattisgarh, India. The facility has a clinker capacity of 12,000tpd (4Mta). Earlier on 16 March, the company announced that it commenced trial run of its new clinker unit. The plant augment company's clinker supply to its various grinding units in eastern region.

India-based Shree Cement has started trial run of its new clinkerisation unit (Kiln 3) at its integrated plant in Baloda Bazar, near Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The Baloda Bazar plant currently has a clinker capacity of 5.2Mta and a cement capacity of 3Mta. Alongside the kiln, the company has also installed a waste heat recovery power plant.
