Fecto Cement posts 35% revenue growth

Pakistan’s Fecto Cement Ltd has reported revenue of PKR4145m (US$15.15m) in the six months ended 31 December 2022, marking a YoY increase of 34.8 per cent. Local sales revenue was up 32.7 per cent YoY to PKR3959m, while export revenue advanced by 102 per cent YoY to reach PKR186m. Indian Railways (IR) are planning to create a cement corridor to link cement and clinker plants along with fly ash facilities for the seamless movement of these products, senior officials. Pakistan’s cement industry saw a negative export revenue trend on overseas dispatches in the 7MFY22-23 (July-January 2023), according to the country’s Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS). During the 7MFY22-23, the cement industry earned US$100.63m by exporting 2.061Mt of cement and clinker, compared with US$160.92m from 4.315Mt exports in the 7MFY21-22. Bangladesh-based Confidence Cement is planning to issue convertible preference shares worth BDT1500m (US$14.2m) to invest in associate companies and to repay a portion of its long-term loans.
