Reliance Infrastructure set to start output from Maharashtra unit

Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (R-Infra) is set to begin producing cement from its grinding facility in Maharashtra this month and will sell it under the Reliance Cement brand. “We will produce cement from our grinding unit, which will start now. Lafarge Zimbabwe has revised its revenue forecast upwards for 2012 for the second time this year after the group reported a significant rise in profits for the first half driven by increased sales. Indonesia’s largest cement maker, PT Semen Gresik, has US$300m to expand its business to the regional markets of Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam, the company’s chief executive Dwi Soetjipto has said. New South Sulawesi cement plant planned, Indonesia

A new cement plant is being planed in Barru, South Sulawesi involving an investment of US$400m, according to executive director of the PT Fajar Semen Baru project, James Martin. According to Indonesian press reports, the venture will involve participation from two cement companies in German and Taiwan and funding is to be sourced from a local consortium of banks. The cement plant is slated to have a capacity of 3.3Mta and, once operational, will serve eastern Indonesia.

Lafarge Republic has signed a deal with the provincial government of Bataan and GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant Co to buy fly ash to be produced at the latter’s 600MW power plant.
