Punjab to establish new cement plant

A meeting of India’s Cabinet Committee on Legislative Business chaired by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Muhammad Basharat Raja, has approved setting up of a new cement plant in Punjab, India. Permission for enhancement of production capacity of two existing cement plants was also approved during the meeting, reports The new International. No further details were revealed.

Hercules Enterprises applies for new UK grinding plant

Hercules Enterprises Ltd, majority owned by Spanish group Cementos La Cruz , is applying to Kent County Council (KCC) for permission to build a 500,000tpa grinding plant at Sheerness Docks, UK. Mangal Industries selects Sinoma to build 3Mta cement plant

An indigenous Nigerian firm, Mangal Industries had signed a US$600m deal agreement with Sinoma International Engneeering of China for the construction of a 3Mta cement plant and 50MW captive power plant in Mopa, Kogi State, Nigeria . The factory will rely on the best available technology for cement production and in line with the highest environmental standards and scheduled to be completed in early 2024.

Ciments du Maroc builds new grinding station at Nador

Savannah Cement , Kenya, wants to raise KES39.7bn (US$350m) via a bond on the London Stock Exchange to build a clinker production plant. Shree Cement plans new plant in Guntur

India’s Shree Cement is planning to set up an INR15bn (US$198.52m) greenfield cement plant in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be the company’s first plant in the state and is expected to complete in 24 months. The location was chosen as the growth rate in Andhra Pradesh is reportedly higher than the national average and is expected to improve further.

Foundation stone for Shree Cement's Punjab plant

The Punjab Chief Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, has laid the foundation stones of Shree Cement’s   Punjab plant at   Deh Kalan village, and a medical college at Ghabdan village with a total cost of INR1050m (US$13.7m). The chief minister said that the 5Mta project have an estimated cost of INR700m, and includes a captive railway siding. The plant site and rail siding have a total land area of 42ha and will require 32MW of power, he added.

Huaxin Cement to begin plant operations within three weeks

Huaxin Cement is now expected to start production at its new 3000tpd plant in Nepal within the next three weeks, with the necessary preparations being made. "We are in the process of finalising the test production. Necessary equipment has been connected, and only some basic works remain. They will be completed in a few days,” said Dilliraj Pokharel, deputy general manager of Huaxin Cement Industry. Electricity has reportedly been made available to the facility since Monday.

CNPC begins 2.5Mta plant construction

China’s CNPC has reportedly started construction of a US$200m plant in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region. The facility is expected to produce 2.5Mta of cement. CNPC has already imported more than 40 machines and equipment worth US$16.7m into Uzbekistan for the project.
