Philippine government's first testing facility set to open in 3Q21

Vietnam’s total sales of cement and clinker has been estimated at 101.5Mt for 2020, representing a rise of 1.5 per cent over 2019. The Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has ordered that, for the second year of the three-year implementation period of the safeguard measure against imported cement, a PHP9.80 (US$0.2) duty will be imposed on every 40kg bag of imported cement or PHP245/t. Vietnam is estimated to have produced 90.3Mt of cement in the first 11 months of 2020, up 3.4 per cent YoY, according to data from the country’s General Statistics Office. YTL Corp posts 18% rise in revenue

Malaysia’s YTL Corp has posted an 18.2 per cent MoM increase in revenue to MYR4.2bn (US$1.03bn) for the third quarter of 2020, compared with MYR3.5bn in the 2Q20. Pre-tax profit also improved to MYR136.8m from a loss of MYR135.5m in the previous quarter. The sequential improvement in performance was mainly driven by its cement and utilities segments.
