The Swiss cement industry aims to become climate neutral by 2050. To achieve this, the Swiss cement association, Cemsuisse, has published its “Roadmap 2050: Klimaneutraler Zement as Ziel” [Climate-neutral cement as a goal] report. LafaregHolcim's Asia Pacific division recorded strong cement sales of 18.9Mt, and increase of 19.6 per cent from 15.8Mt in the 1Q20. LafargeHolcim announced that its sustainability achievements in 2021 were ranked ranked first in its sector by Vigeo Eiris, giving the company its highest rating of A1 + . LafargeHolcim sees net sales rise 7% in 1Q21

LafargeHolcim recorded a record start to 2021, led by net sales improving by 7.4 per cent and an increase in recurring EBIT of 130.7 per cent compared to the prior year period, both on a like-for-like basis. Cement deliveries in Switzerland (including Liechtenstein) slipped 1.1 per cent in the first quarter of 2021 when compared to the 1Q20, which was the last not fully affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Swiss cement association, Cemsuisse.
