Adana Cimento exports to Iraq

Adana Cimento now exports to Iraq, and plans to enter Syrian market in April this year. Oya Tokatli, deputy General Manager of the cement manufacturer Adana Cimento, said that the company exported it products to Iraq for the first time in March, and they would enter the Syrian market as well in April. The Government of Iran has reportedly expressed desire to import cement from Pakistan. According to news sources, Iranian civil companies forwarded an application to Pakistan in which they wished to import 100,000t cement from Pakistan. On average, Indian cement prices continue to escalate and are likely to touch Rs 175 a bag, causing concern in the construction industry. Pakistan company to export cement clinker

Attock Cement Ltd and the Commodity Company of UAE have signed an agreement for the export of 40,000t of cement clinker from Pakistan for UAE and Qatar markets, a press release said.  This would be the first export from Pakistan to the Middle East.  Attock Cement was the first Pakistani company to export to Bangladesh in 1995.  At present Pakistan is exporting cement primarilt to Afghanistan.
