Geocycle begins Ravena waste fuel study

Geocycle is starting a new waste fuel project at Holcim’s Ravena cement plant in New York, USA. The project is a is a government-funded study to see how the cement plant can use construction waste from the US Army Corps as potential fuel for cement kilns. Dragon Products to stop Rockland rail terminal shipments

From next year, USA-based Dragon Products plans to stop shipping cement along the Rockland South End rail line in favour of selling cement from the plant in trucks and shipping cement by rail directly to its customers. Argos recorded cement shipments of 8.6Mt in the 1H21, an increase of 26.9 per cent compared to the 1H20. The advance was supported by the performance of the group in the USA, the Caribbean and Central America, as well as having a low comparison base. Buzzi Unicem's net sales in the 1H20 increased 5.8 per cent, standing at EUR1608.7m versus EUR1520.1m in 1H20, while EBITDA improved by 12.3 per cent, advancing from EUR313.9m to EUR352.5m.
