Italy sees 32% advance in 1H production

Domestic cement output in Italy picked up by two per cent YoY in June 2021, following a YoY increase of 18 per cent in May 2021, according to Federbeton. In the January-June period output has advanced 32 per cent when compared with the year-ago period. To supplement local supply, Italy imported 151,444t of cement in May 2021, up 75 per cent YoY. Mannok, based in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, has invested EUR2.1m in its cement bagging facilities to double the company’s production capacity. Tarmac’s Dunbar Cement plant has given its Marubeni Komatsu PC2000’ backhaul excavator a seven-week overhaul. Swedish Supreme Court does not grant Cementa leave to appeal

Sweden's Supreme Court announced that Cementa will not be granted leave to appeal against the decision by the Supreme land and Environmental Court on 6 July when it rejected the cement producer's application to extend its limestone quarry in Slite from 1 November.
