The 26 July cement works in Nuevitas, Cuba, completed its 2014 production plan with over 129,000t. In 2015 it is expected that the plant will deliver product for key construction projects in the province of Camagüey and further afield places such as Ciego de Ávila, las Tunas, Holguín y Granma.

Search operations are ongoing for at least nine crew of a cement ship that sank off Batangas province Thursday evening.   The Philippine Coast Guard said the vessel was loaded with 20,000 sacks of cement. Initial information indicated the that the ship went down off of Lobo in Batangas. The Coast Guard said 11 crew were rescued, but nine are still unaccounted for.
