Across the border
Since its commissioning in 2017, the McInnis Cement plant in Port-Daniel-Gascons, Québec, Canada, has continued to expand its reach both within Canada and across the border to the USA. ICR spoke with the company’s management team about the road travelled and its hopes for the future.
McInnes Cement is a 2.2Mta, state-of-the-art integrated plant, commissioned in 2017, and owned by the Quebec state investment fund, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec. Situated on a large limestone deposit and located in the Gulf of the St Lawrence on the eastern seaboard of Canada, the plant has a 35ft deep-water port, capable of handing 60,000t vessels.
