Cement Standard
Dear All,
I want to know a brief history behind the use of word " Ordinary " in many cement standard.
If we compare indian standard for OPC cements like IS:269, IS : 8112 and IS : 12269with chinese standards like GB175 : 1999 , then we find that what chinese sell as OPC is indian PPC.
Moreover EN standards never use word "ordinary" before portland cement, but are equivalent to indian OPC.
Pl. explain
Regards,

Re: Cement Standard
That’s the problem with the use of terms like Ordinary. What was ordinary (as opposed to high alumina or super-sulphated, etc.) in England in the nineteenth century is not necessarily what is ordinary in China or India today.

Re: Cement Standard
When the cement was invented it is said that it is resembling Portland stone/rock. Ordinary word might have been coined then "stone being ordinary"Well, its a guess needs confirmation.
