We have 3000 tpd designed KHD pyro process. which run on consistently on 3550 tpd. Power consumption of PH fan is 8.8 to 9 kw/t clinker, which is very high. Efficiency of fan is 80%. what may be the reason for higher consumption?
dear keep ur PH outlet temp down in limit
hello,
power consumption of 8 -9 kWh/t for PH fan appears to be exorbitantly high! any how power depends on voume and pressure drop across the PH tower. there could be two possible reasons for your case:
1. Very high volume of "false air"
2.pressure drop across PH is abnormal
Temperature will increase the volume of gases to some extent, but it may not be the case here.
As they are getting plus 3500 tpd clinker production on the design of 3000, it indicates that infiltration across pre-heater is not abnormal. So i think that pressure drop cross pre-heater tower and down commer duct (i. e. up to PH fan inlet) will play major role in power consumption, as there is no dispute in PH fan efficiency.
