A Southern Arizona cement plant has agreed to pay US$350,000 to settle violations of the Clean Air Act.
The Environmental Protection Agency says that CalPortland did not obtain permits required by the Clean Air Act for its cement plant in Marana.
As a result, CalPortland will pay a fine and either upgrade equipment to reduce particle pollution or install a new upgraded kiln.
