National Cement executives attribute the milestone to a comprehensive safety training program, increasing the amount and frequency of safety training, said a news release.
As part of the program, incentives are given to employees for every accident-free month. In the past year, National Cement has awarded more than $10,000 in incentives to employees, said the release.
“This is a significant achievement for our company and especially for the employees at the Ragland plant,” said Spencer Weitman, president. “They have worked hard to make safety awareness an everyday priority and their efforts have certainly had positive results.”
