China’s Sinoma International Engineering said it has signed a series of deals to build cement facilities for Taiwan Cement Corp, with a combined contract value of nearly two billion yuan.  Sinoma said in a statement that under the agreements, it will build two cement production lines in Yingde, a city in the southern province of Guangdong, for a total of Yuan 908m (approx US$100m). It will also build another two production lines in the southern province of Guangxi for Yuan 1.07bn (approx US$125m). The Shanghai-listed engineering firm said construction on the production lines, each with a daily capacity of 6000t, will be completed in 16-17 months.  Taiwan Cement Corp said earlier last year that it is aiming to become the third-largest cement maker in mainland China by 2008.
