Taiwan Cement Corp plans to invest US$300m to increase its annual production capacity in China to 20Mt, the Economic Daily News reported Saturday. Taiwan Cement Chairman Koo Cheng-yun said he plans to establish his company as one of the three biggest cement producers in China, the newspaper cited Koo as saying.
The cement market in Taiwan has reached maturity, the paper quoted Koo as saying, and China, which needs 900Mt of cement annually, is the company’s expansion direction, Koo said.
