Jordanian cement producer Jordan Cement Factories Company (JCFC) posted a net profit of 27 mln Jordanian dinars (US$38.2m) for 2003, up 70 per cent year-on-year, according to the company’s director general, Samir al-Bairaqtar.  The company completed in 2003 the repayment of its debts, which stood at 48 mln dinars (US$67.8m) at the end of 1998, al-Bairaqtar said. JCFC’s annual capacity stands at some 4.4Mt, of which some 2.7Mt are allocated for the local market. The largest foreign markets for the company’s production are Iraq and Syria.
