Cement dispatches in Vietnam increased by 62 per cent YoY to 4,099,468t in February 2025, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Of this total, VICEM delivered 1,065,342t, up 52 per cent YoY, while other VNCA members saw a 68 per cent YoY advance in their dispatches to 774,126t. Non-members reported a 65 per cent YoY increase to 2,260,000t when compared with February 2024. 

In addition, export volumes improved by 55 per cent to 3,126,664t in February 2025 with clinker exports seeing a 58 per cent YoY increase to 1,365,821t while cement exports were up 52 per cent YoY to 1,760,843t.
VICEM exported 18,917t of clinker, down 85 per cent, and 110,864t of cement, down 39 per cent when compared with February 2024. Other VNCA members saw a 43 per cent drop in clinker exports to 34,579t, but a 15 per cent uptick in cement exports to 246,143t. Clinker exports by non-members surged 93 per cent YoY to 1,312,325t while cement exports advanced 85 per cent YoY to 1,403,836t. 

January-February 2025
In the first two months of 2025 cement dispatches in Vietnam saw an eight per cent uptick to 7.728Mt when compared with the 2M24. VICEM saw a 12.3 per cent rise in domestic sales to 2.112Mt while other VNCA members reported a 10.7 per cent increase YoY to 1.396Mt. Domestic sales by non-members edged up 5.2 per cent to 4.22Mt in the 2M25. 

Total exports increased by two per cent YoY to 5.33Mt with clinker exports up one per cent YoY to 2.356Mt and cement exports up two per cent YoY to 2.974Mt. VICEM’s clinker exports dropped 90 per cent to 23,308t and cement exports by 64 per cent to 141,283t. Other VNCA members reported clinker exports of 43,884t, down 51 per cent YoY, and cement exports of 456,843t, down 13 per cent YoY. Only non-members were able to report export gains as they saw a 17 per cent increase in clinker exports to 2.284Mt and a 20 per cent advance in cement exports to 2.376Mt.
