Per capita consumption of cement in Chile is reaching the levels noted before the 2008 economic crisis and is equated with those of developed countries, according to data released by the MG Penta Consulting Group.
In 2010 the figure reached 246kg per capita in the country, and it is estimated that by 2011 this number is approaching 300kg, exceeding the peak experienced in 2008, when it was 290kg.
Claudio Parraguez, manager of Penta MG Planning Group, said: " Our country already has a per capita consumption similar to the average of 300kg in developed countries, excluding China."
