With over 25,000t of grey cement made in the first quarter of this year, the “26 de Julio” cement works situated in the municipality of Nuevitas, Cuba, celebrates its 44th anniversary.

Rudy García Arce, general manager of this factory, highlighted that the company surpassed its production target for the first quarter of 2012.

In order to work more efficiently, Mr Arce said it is a priority for the factory to implement the Guidelines for Social and Economic Policies approved last year at the 6th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).??The company seeks to cover the needs of the Camagüey province by completing several investment processes.

The 26 de Julio cement manufacturing plant was opened on April 9th, 1968 by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and it was the first cement factory built after the Revolution. (Source: Radio Cadena Agramonte).
