Zambia-based Ndola Lime Company (NLC) has commenced discussions with potential partners for a joint venture cement plant project on the Copperbelt.
Abraham Witika, company chief executive officer, has received numerous offers from interested partners and a feasibility study is being undertaken, reports the Times of Zambia.
During a tour of the Ndola Lime Company plant on Monday by Mines and Mineral Resource Deputy Mininster Richard Musukwa, Mr Witika said Ndola Lime had enough raw material to go into cement production but the project could only proceed after finding the preferred partners.
“We are currently engaging possible partners in a joint venture for cement production, but we have to finish other projects first before we can begin to explore the cement project,” Mr Witika said.
