Taiheiyo Cement Philippines is in the process of implementing measures to raise production to rise expected rises in domestic demand in the near-future.

Speaking to the Inquirer, Satoshi Asami, president of the local cement manufacturer, said the company will maximise capacity of its existing mills as well as cement packing system and terminal facility.

Last year the company produced 800,000t of cement and this year it plans to expand output to 1.3Mt, representing a YoY rise of 60%. The company is further prepared to increase output to 1.5Mt if needed.

Taiheiyo Philippines’ cement plant is situated in Cebu City. The company serves 50 per cent of the Cebu market as well as up to 40 per cent of the Visayas market and parts of Mindanao.
