Iran produced 24.44Mt of cement in the first four months of the current Iranian year (20 March - 21 July 2012), IRNA reported.

According to a report by the Industries, Mines and Trade Ministry, about 6.43Mt of cement was produced during the 20 June - 21 July. Clinker production, meanwhile, amounted to 5.64Mt during the same period.

Last month, Mohammad Hassan Pourkhalil, secretary of the Cement Industry Contractors Union, said cement production surpassed 17.99Mt during 20 March-20 June, representing a six per cent rise on the corresponding period of last year.
