Sinoma Overseas Development Co Ltd celebrated the successful capping of the preheater tower for the Yamama 12,500tpd relocated and upgraded cement production line project in Saudi Arabia. This important milestone was marked during a site visit with the full project team in attendance, including the executive team from Sinoma Overseas, Yamama Saudi Cement, and the consulting company PEG. The placement of the final structural element atop the preheater tower is a symbolic moment for the project – signalling the completion of major construction.
The Yamama project is breaking new ground in the global cement industry. “This capping is a strategic milestone for us and our client,” said Zhu Linhe, chairman of Sinoma Overseas, highlighting the significance of the achievement. “It not only demonstrates Sinoma Overseas’s ability to deliver complex, high-end projects but also brings us one step closer to finishing the world's first relocated and upgraded 12,500tpd cement production line. It’s a testament to the strong partnership and shared vision between Sinoma Overseas and Yamama Cement.” Achieving this upgrade has required overcoming significant engineering and logistical challenges, from dismantling and moving massive equipment to integrating new technology, making the progress to date a globally significant engineering feat.
The successful capping ceremony was made possible by everyone involved's collaborative efforts and hard work. Sinoma Overseas’ project team has worked hand-in-hand with Yamama Cement, international consulting company PEG, numerous subcontractors, and hundreds of dedicated site workers to reach this point. The presence of the entire team at the site to witness the event underscores the strong teamwork and joint commitment driving the project forward. With the preheater tower now complete, the focus shifts to the next steps: commissioning the plant and preparing for final delivery. The team will continue to work diligently to ensure a smooth transition from construction into full operation, maintaining momentum toward the on-schedule handover of this landmark project.
