Gebr Pfeiffer SE has secured another order from India-based Shree Cement headquartered in Kolkata.

This new contract will see Gebr Pfeiffer provide an MPS 5000 B vertical roller mill for the 8th kiln line, which is to be set up at RAS works in Rajasthan. The mill featuring a 3400kW drive is designed to grind 420tph of raw material to a product fineness of two per cent R212µm. The product will be classified in an integrated latest generation high-efficiency SLS-B type classifier. The moisture contained in the feed material will be dried in the mill during the grinding process by using exhaust gases from the cement kiln.

Petcoke will be ground to a fineness of 1-2 per cent R90µm in an MPS 2800 BK coal mill which will come equipped with a 720kW drive and an integrated high-efficiency classifier of the type SLS-BK.

The MPS mills and the grinding plants are designed use little external heat for drying the material. This is important because to optimise the energy efficiency the customer intends to recover heat from the exhaust gases. Hence the process gases available for drying have a low temperature.

The core components of the mills and the gear units will be supplied from Europe by Gebr Pfeiffer SE whereas Gebr Pfeiffer (India) Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Gebr. Pfeiffer SE, will source components like the housing of the mills and the classifiers, the foundation parts as well as the internal parts of the classifiers. Moreover, the Indian subsidiary will design the layout of the grinding plants at its Noida-based offices and advise the customer on equipment procured.

The current order was received just six months after a similar order had been placed for RAS works’ production line No 7.

Shree Cement’s Beawar works also has mills in operation from Gebr Pfieffer SE.
