Cement consumption in Argentina increased by 16.7 per cent YoY to 740,205t in March 2025 from 634,342t in March 2024, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. When compared with February, there was a 0.7 per cent uptick.

Domestic producers manufactured 747,934t of cement, representing an increase of 17.1 per cent YoY when compared with March 2024, when output reached 638,824t. Of this total, 7791t was exported, up 63.9 per cent from 4753t in March 2024.

Production in Argentina was supplemented with 61t of cement imports in  March 2025, down from 271t in the previous year’s period.

In the first quarter of 2025 cement demand in Argentina advanced 10.6 per cent YoY to 2.307Mt from 2.085Mt in the 1Q24. 

Output by the country’s producers increased 11 per cent YoY to 2.332Mt from 2.1Mt in the January-March 2024 period. This includes 24,971t of exports, up 54.4 per cent YoY from 16,173t.

Imports declined 62.5 per cent YoY to 618t in the 1Q25 from 1650t in the equivalent period of the previous year.
