Germany’s Schwenk Zement will invest EUR20m in a new grinding plant, which is slated to work more efficiently, with lower energy requirement and reduced noise levels.
Part of the equipment at the Allmending works is 30-40 years old, said works manager Jürgen Thormann, including a tube ball mill. As a result, the company will invest in a new unit – a roller mill.
It is expected that work on the foundations will start this year, with the new mill entering operation in 2014.
