Fiji Industries Ltd has started the production of cement today. The mill broke down two weeks ago resulting in short supply of cement across the country.
Fijian Holdings Ltdd Group Acting CEO Nouzab Fareed said the mill is at 40% capacity and hopes to reach 100% capacity and 24 hour production by Sunday.
The supply of cement from Fiji Industries is expected to normalise by mid next week.
Meanwhile, 3000t of cement will arrive on Sunday from New Zealand and another 2000t next week. Nouzab Fareed said this will be distributed to all customers, who have placed orders.
