The Iranian cement industry produced 4,940,597t of cement and 6,277,978t of clinker in the first month of the Iranian calendar, known as Farvardin (20 March - 20 April 2013), according to local sources. However, cement production was down1.5 per cent on the 5,013,282t produced in the previous Farvardin, but clinker production rose 1.7 per cent from 6,174,705t in the same month of last year.
Abyek Cement was the biggest producer with an output of 197,770t of cement and 209,306t of clinker.
Meanwhile, CemNet news has learnt that cement exports reached 1,176,063t while clinker exports were 282,149t, up by 34 and 35 per cent YoY, respectively. Saman-e-Gharb Cement proved to be the biggest exporter with 113,879t of volumes sold to other markets.
