Iran cement and clinker exports for the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year crossed the 5Mt mark.
Exports for the period stood at 5.075Mt, which represented a 50 per cent increase compared to the same period of last year. Cement exports represented 4.21Mt of the total.
The country plans to export over 18.5Mt of cement, Mohammad Fatemian, an official with the Industry, Mine, and Trade ministry, had previously said.
In the Iranian year ended 20 March, Iran’s cement and clinker exports stood at over 13.648Mt in the previous calendar year comprising 11.85Mt of cement and 1.79Mt of clinker. The country produced 75Mt of cement and capacity is 80Mta.
