The Limak Cement Group of Turkey has ordered seven mills, three raw mills, three cement mills and one coal mill, from Gebr Pfeiffer SE to upgrade its Pinarhisar, Ankara und Balikesir works in Turkey. The seven new vertical roller mills are intended to replace existing ball mills.
At the Pinarhisar works an MPS 4000 B vertical roller mill will be used for grinding 250tph of cement raw material to a product fineness of <12 per cent R on 90µm at an installed power of 2000kW. Due to the high moisture of the raw materials of as much as 14 per cent, the mill will feature a larger housing to allow the high volume flow required for drying the raw materials to be passed through the mill without problems.
For grinding 180tph of OPC to a fineness of 3500cm²/g, an MPS 4750 BC with an installed power of 4000kW has been selected.
The MPS 2800 BK chosen for grinding petcoke is designed to grind 30tph to a product fineness of <2 per cent R90µm at an installed power of 700kW.
The Ankara and Balikesir works will each be equipped with identical mills for cement and raw material grinding, ie an MPS 4570 BC and an MPS 4000 B.
Gebr Pfeiffer’s own skilled staff will supervise the installation and commissioning of all mills. Five of the seven mills will be set up this year, and the remaining two in 2014.
Back in 2009 Gebr Pfeiffer received an order from the Limak Group to supply a coal mill and a raw mill for Sanliurfa works.
